 Canadian sphynx

Type: should not be so slender like the Siamese, but from the build medium-sized and stubby, fine-bony  and, nevertheless, powerfully, with strong musculature. The chest is short and roller-shaped. The cat looks, as if she has just eaten, because she has a small, thick little belly.

Legs: Forelegs are long and have fine limbs, hind legs a little longer than the forelegs, hard with stressed  shanks. Young animals seem crooked-legged.

Paws: largely, long and ovally, with last very much, to extreme toes, the paw bales are developed more hard than with  other races.

Tail: very thinly and long (bunch), whip-shaped, tapers to a point behind very much.

Head: a little longer than broadly with harmonious curvatures and very high cheek bones, above the eyes a  level, long skull, the profile is not whole just, it has only quite a small stop in the nose, as opposed to Devon Rex with a deep stop and the Cornish Rex with quite a straight profile. The head may not resemble that of the Rex cats, therefore, one did not have to do them with each other verpaaren. Moreover, they carry absolutely different genes.

Snout: quite briefly, hard developed, with protruding whisker cushions.

Eyes: zitronenförming, largely and openly, at an angle put with good distance to each other.

Colour of eyes: is regardless of the fur color, she plays no big role, she should be orange, green or hazel and clearly in the color.

Ears: largely, in the beginning very far openly, neither too high nor too deeply placed,  are carried upright a little bit forwards  arched, very freely of hair.

Fur: At some places the hair leftovers are to be found. They  are tolerated in legs, genitals, tail point, on  the nose and in the back of the ears. Otherwise they must be hairless.

Skin: almost in the nude and feels warm, lies especially creased with the head, neck, shoulders and joints. The young animals  seem extremely creased, as if they must still grow into her skin.

A little higher body temperature has from the nature the Sphynx. Thereby she is naked, must compensate them the warmth by an enormously high metabolism. She eats more than other cats and achieves with it a 1  to 2 degree higher body temperature. The skin is protected by a fat film which forms regularly. Many owners believe wrong manner, they would not have to maintain the cat because of the missing fur. But it  must be bathed from time to time, so that the fat film disappears and the cat gets no pigment places.

The Sphynx also is allowed outward to the fresh air, she loves to lie in the sun,  she also manages with the cold in winter  if it is accustomed to it. They cannot put of course a cat who is held the whole day in the warm flat outward, because then she would also freeze, how hairy cats.

Varieties: All colors are permitted. One recognizes them, perhaps, by the skin color.

Mistake: too oriental, to hauskatzenähnlich, to deep stop, profile to just, resemblance to another befellten  race.
